1. Who is my primary target audience
- Age group: 15-25 year olds
- Gender: Both Male and Females
- I'd expect my target audience to be interested in TV programmes that are thriller/drama related such Homeland, Sherlock Holmes, Dexter and Breaking Bad.
- They'd be likely to watch horror or thriller themed movies, for example, Taken or Paranormal Activity.
- Further examples of films they may watch might be: Gone Girl, Hanna, Abduction, Captain Phillips or Sweeney Todd.
- In their free time, I'd expect them to visit YouTube, play games on either PC or Console, download a variety of music and movies, drink the likes of Costa coffee or Starbucks, eat fast food or at places such as Nando's, Wagamama's or Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
- They'd buy clothes from: River Island, Topman, Topshop, ASOS, H&M, Next or Bank.
- Media: Smartphones such as, iPhones and Blackberry's provide internet with information on the movie; MacBook and iPad's enable allow people to watch movies through Nextflix, Amazon Prime or App Store. They also offer games and browsers as well. The kindle is another source of media which provides similar stuff.
2) What makes my film stand out from the competition?
My film stands out from the competition as it includes a host of different locations that are unique to the film. The film also consists of a variety of camera angles and audio that efficiently builds to a climax and creates tension; this will ideally engage the audience further.
3) Why should my audience watch my film?
My film opening is for a thriller film that is exhilarating and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It holds suspense and there are mysteries within it as well as some unexpected twists that will keep the audience focussed throughout.
My film will appeal to a younger audience range, preferably teenagers as it includes the use of fresh and young characters that will interest specific audience members more. The subject of the film is an undeniable fear for teens and children to lose both parents to murder and not knowing what will follow... Although the film is directed at both genders, it could arguably attract a female audience more as the main character is an 18 year old attractive female actress.
Here is a collage I have created to express in a small extent roughly the type of audience that would be interested in my film opening:
