FILMING

Earlier in the week we filmed our News Broadcast/Crime Scene where I controlled the camera work and assisted in arranging the composition of the shot.

In order to make the scene look realistic and practical I included props such as police tape, forensic scientists and a microphone to make the scene look effective and realistic. The location we used was also convenient as we filmed behind the house where the murder had taken place.

The Mass Of Man

In the Future Learn course that I recently signed out for, I was offered the chance to watch a short film called 'The Mass Of Men' .

I found this fascinating and it has helped me build new ideas for my AS Production short film. The film has given me new ideas for various camera angles and techniques I can use to construct a narrative.

I also began to consider the function of the music. The music is essential when making a film because it can create atmosphere and tension.

Another aspect of my film I considered was the casting used. It will cost a minimal amount as there are no famous actors used, this is the same with the crew.

The location is also going to be cheap because it's all done in a office, plus they use public areas as it is free and legal to film in these surroundings.

The story of the film is extremely deep and will makes the audiences think about life in a different perspective. This will attract viewers as the story has meaning and has truth behind it. The movie will then hopefully spread through word-of-mouth from the viewers.

This story is close to a real life situation to an extent, as there are many people having to survive on a low income. The idea is powerful and meaningful. The effort spent creating the film is clear as the final product is extraordinary and the purpose of the film has been presented well

EXPLORE FILM MAKING: Future Learn

I have just recently signed myself to the six week course on Future Learn. This is a program that lasts over a period of six weeks and helps you to gain a much more advanced understanding of how a script manages to reach the screen. I find this website really useful and easy to use. It shows your progress and also states what you have done and what you still need to do.
